Kerning is a term used mainly by typographers and nerdy graphic designers. It applies to the space between the letters, which either aids or hinders a reader in progressing through the text.

Initially I started this blog when I was a graphic designer, and “Kerning for the Weary” was going to focus on issues relating solely to graphic design. After a long hiatus, a promotion and a dismissal I think that this blog and my life have a lot more to them than just graphic design.

The new meaning “Kerning for the Weary” will be my sporadic attempts to bring things together, not just letters to help you read, but ideas, thoughts and provocations to maybe make some sense–or lack thereof in this life.

Topics will be vast–let your mind wander.
